Memo Gets An Early Start

Utah Jazz All-Star center Mehmet Okur arrived in Salt Lake City and started working out and getting ready for the upcoming pre-season. The Jazz will hold Media Day on Monday, and Memo plans on working out until then.

On Tuesday the Jazz Boise Camp will start off, and Memo said he needs to go in the best shape there. Memo added that this season will be tougher then last unless everybody is ready for what is ahead by stating "Last year was a great season. Everyone wants to make sure we have a nother great season. However we realize it won't be as easy as last season, so we need to work harder.".

Memo also said that like everybody in the Jazz family he was saddened by the illness of Carlos Boozer's son. Memo wishes the Boozer family a speedy recovery and prays Carlos' son gets  much better very quickly.

Memo added, "Carlos and Cindy  are going thorough avery difficult time. I hope their son will recover very quickly. We exprienced a similar extremely difficult situation last season with Derek (Fisher). I felt back then that no matter what, family is the most important thing. I feel exactly the same way now. Family comes first. And second. And third. Therefore it is very important that Carlos be with Cindy and his children.".

Memo finished by saying "Carlos is a top rate professional. He was out almost for a year and everybody saw how he came back last season. Therefore I think i will not effect him too much if he misses some camp time, and even falls a little behind he would make it up very quickly." and emphasizing that every opponent will try and play their Grade A ball against the Jazz this year so they have to be ready.
